Energy vs Nutrients: Proton, Neutron In Atoms – What’s Their Significance?

Energy is essential, as it is what allows one to do work. It’s a form of chemical energy that most often comes from food and from inside of the body cells. The energy from food derives from these main nutrients: glucose, carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. All nutrients are made up of atoms. Every atom has a certain number of protons, neutrons, and electrons that make up the atom’s nucleus. Protons have a positive electric charge while electrons have a negative electric charge. Neutrons have no electric charge. The main difference between nutrients is the percentage of protons in their nuclei as well as how many neutrons they each contain.
